AI and automation

Design AI-assisted workflows people can govern and operate

GSIO helps teams identify suitable workflows, define where human judgment stays in control, and turn a scoped automation into an operable system.

Automation starts with the work, not a model. We map the decisions, inputs, exceptions, privacy boundaries, and owners before selecting an implementation approach.

The design makes policy gates, human review, escalation, and evidence trails explicit. Consequential steps remain accountable to named roles rather than disappearing inside an automated sequence.

Delivery includes the operating material needed for handoff: workflow documentation, ownership boundaries, testing notes, and maintenance expectations. The exact scope depends on the approved brief and available evidence.

01

What a scoped engagement can produce

  • A workflow and decision-rights map
  • Prioritized automation opportunities and acceptance criteria
  • A governed prototype or implementation plan
  • Handoff, operating, and maintenance documentation

02

How the work proceeds

  1. Frame the outcome

Define the beneficiary, decision owner, constraints, and acceptance criteria.

  2. Map the workflow

Document inputs, systems, people, exceptions, data boundaries, and review points.

  3. Prototype and test

Test a bounded workflow against agreed cases, failure modes, and escalation rules.

  4. Transfer ownership

Provide operating notes, responsibilities, maintenance expectations, and unresolved decisions.

03

Workflow governance readiness check

Use five questions to identify which preparation step is most useful before an AI automation engagement.

Choose one answer for each question.

1. Is the workflow outcome and decision owner explicit?
2. Is the current workflow documented, including exceptions?
3. Are required data sources, permissions, and quality limits understood?
4. Are human review, escalation, and stop conditions defined?
5. Is there an owner for monitoring, maintenance, and change control?

Add the situation, workflow, constraints, and what you want to discuss. Do not include credentials or sensitive operational data.

When you request a draft, your answers and description are sent to Cloudflare Workers AI. This drafting endpoint does not store them, and analytics receives only the locale, service, result band, and generation status—not your text.

Discuss a governed workflow

Describe the decision or workflow you want to improve, without including sensitive operational details in the first message.
